Demolition and tear-outs
Interior tear-outs, old decks, sheds and fencing. Taken apart, loaded and hauled away.
What we tear out
If you are unsure whether a wall is structural, do not guess and do not start swinging. We will look at it first, and if it is carrying load, that is a conversation about engineering rather than demolition.
Older houses need a word of caution
If your home was built before 1978, the paint may contain lead, and federal rules govern how renovation work that disturbs it has to be carried out. Flooring, insulation and textured ceilings from roughly the same era can contain asbestos.
Neither means the work cannot go ahead. It does mean the material should be tested before it is disturbed. We raise it before the work starts rather than partway through, and can point you toward testing where it is warranted.
What changes the price
Demolition is priced on volume and difficulty far more than on square footage. The things that move a quote most:
Dump runs are part of the job, so ask about disposal when we walk the work and we will factor it into the quote.

Common questions
Do I need a dumpster?
It depends on the volume. Hauling away in loads suits smaller jobs; a large tear-out can work out better with a dumpster on site. We will price it both ways when we look at the job.
Can you do the demolition and then the rebuild?
Yes, and it is usually simpler that way. One person who has seen what is behind the wall is better placed to put it back than someone arriving after the fact.
What happens to what you take away?
Metal goes to scrap, usable material gets donated or re-used where it is worth doing, and the rest goes to the transfer station.
Do you take hazardous material?
No. Paint, solvents, chemicals, asbestos and similar need proper disposal through the right channels, so that has to be arranged separately from the job. We will flag anything we spot that falls into that category.
