Drywall repair and patching
Holes, cracks, water-stained ceilings, and patch correction. Matched to the existing texture and ready for paint.
What we repair
Matching the existing texture
A repair is matched to the surface around it. Walls and ceilings are finished in a range of textures — smooth, orange peel, knockdown and sprayed ceiling textures among them — and each is applied differently. We identify what is on your wall and match it before priming.
Paint is the second half. Color can be matched at a paint counter from a sample, though differences in sheen and in how the surrounding paint has aged can still leave a spot repair visible. Painting wall to wall is available where a seamless finish matters.
How a repair runs
Send a photo
Text a picture of the damage with something next to it for scale. That lets us quote accurately and arrive with the right materials.
Cut back and back it up
The damaged section is cut to a clean shape and backed with timber or a patch panel, so the repair has solid support behind it and resists cracking.
Tape, coat and sand
Tape over the joint, then two or three thin coats of compound, each feathered wider than the last, sanded between coats.
Texture and prime
Match the surrounding texture, then prime so the repair does not show through the topcoat. Paint follows if you want it included.
Joint compound has to dry between coats, which is what sets the schedule for a repair.
What changes the price
Older homes need checking first
If your house was built before 1978, the paint may contain lead, and federal rules govern renovation work that disturbs it, which includes sanding. Textured and sprayed ceilings from the 1950s to the early 1980s can contain asbestos.
Neither means the work cannot go ahead. It does mean a suspect ceiling should be tested before it is sanded or scraped. We raise it before starting rather than partway through.

Common questions
Do you do large areas, or only small patches?
Both. We handle large-area drywall, small patches, and patch correction where an earlier repair needs redoing.
Can you match my texture?
Smooth, orange peel and knockdown match well. Sprayed ceiling textures are harder to blend, and on a heavily damaged ceiling, resurfacing the whole ceiling is an option worth pricing alongside a patch.
Do you paint afterwards, or do I need a painter?
We can paint it. If you still have the original paint, keep it aside for us. If not, color can be matched at the paint counter from a sample.
Why can it not all be done in one go?
Joint compound has to dry fully between coats before the next one goes on, and before sanding. Rushing that is what causes a repair to crack or show later.
The stain on my ceiling keeps coming back. Why?
An active leak above will stain through a repair. The source needs fixing and the area needs drying out before the drywall is repaired.
